Technological Control is the process by which information and communications are controlled to provide a benefit to the systems and devices. The word ‘technological’ is used because control systems are typically based on technological systems. These include Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer and Information Services, Energy Management, Manufacturing, and other areas. Technological change means the automated automation, mechanization, or other processes, or the duplication or development of existing machinery or equipment that results in the substitution of a human employee for that position in his/her regular job.
Technological change has been a topic of interest for decades, and has resulted in significant changes in many areas of business, including manufacturing, retail, information technology, health care, education, aerospace, and manufacturing productivity, as well as government policy. One of the main drivers behind technological control is the growth of the Information Technology Industry. In this ever-changing age, the ability to do what was previously only possible in black and white using “man-in-the-box” programs is now a part of every day life. In addition to controlling the way that information is processed and used, technological control also encompasses the ways by which data is stored and retrieved, security measures, as well as controlling the distribution of information.
This broader definition of technological control is then coupled with the definition of ‘data bodies’. A data body is any set of computers, devices, optical apparatus, tapes, films, and other related things. Data is the means of organizing and storing information. The information may be represented numerically, graphically, or even symbolically. In other words, data is information that can be understood, stored, retrieved, and used. This definition of data bodies is also inclusive of data that are generated by a technological control system.
Now, it should be noted that this definition of technological control is also inclusive of the ability to control information that leaves the control level. It is possible to use technological systems to filter out or isolate information before it leaves the control system. This filtering process is called control flow. As you can see, the definition of ‘technological control’ is intimately intertwined with the definition of ‘live without technology’. It is possible to live without technological control systems, but it is also possible to use technology to control the lives of others through information and technology.
It should be noted that technological control means different things to different people. For example, for some, technological control means using technology to make decisions. To other people, technological control means creating technology to help individuals live better lives. Still, other people would define technological control as something between these two extremes.
Technological control is therefore a term that has multiple meaning. In a broad sense, technological control means any means by which individuals or groups can manipulate information and influence the world around them. In a narrow sense, technological control means controlling the brain. Of course, in conversations about the Internet and brain power, this definition of brain power is often used to describe Internet access as a form of technological control.
Technological control is therefore a wide term that encompasses many things. It is important for people to realize that although technology means different things to different people, that does not mean that technology used in this instance is bad in any way. In fact, many technological developments are beneficial to human life and improve the quality of life. Therefore, technology can in fact be a wonderful thing.
However, one cannot let technology shape society in a way that it does not benefit human beings. Many advances in technology have helped humans live more abundantly and have improved lives in various ways. Technological control should therefore be controlled in a way that enhances the well-being of human beings. Humans need not allow technological control to control all aspects of their lives, including their minds.
